Job Title: DBA – DMS S6 Services

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Database Engineer / DBA to manage and support critical database infrastructure for GridOS ADMS and DMS S6 integration services. This role is responsible for the design, implementation, performance tuning, and 24/7 reliability of databases supporting real-time operational technology (OT) applications.

The ideal candidate will have robust experience working with high-availability, high-performance database systems in real-time environments such as SCADA, EMS, or ADMS.

Key Responsibilities

Database Architecture

- Design and optimize database schemas, tables, indexes, and stored procedures for high-volume, low-latency applications.

Performance Tuning

- Monitor database performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement query optimization, indexing, and partitioning strategies.

Data Modeling

- Collaborate with integration teams to model data structures for DMS S6 and enterprise systems such as GIS, Historian, and AMI/MDM.

High Availability & Disaster Recovery

- Implement and manage HA/DR solutions including replication, mirroring, and clustering to ensure 24/7 system availability.

Security & Compliance

- Enforce strict database security policies, manage RBAC,



and ensure compliance with cybersecurity standards (e.g., NERC/CIP).

Maintenance & Operations

- Perform regular patching, upgrades, backup/recovery, and capacity planning.

- Act as an SME to diagnose and resolve data integrity issues, performance degradation, and system faults in production.

ETL & Messaging Support

- Design and support database components for ETL pipelines and streaming platforms (e.g., Kafka).

Required Qualifications

- 5+ years of hands-on experience as a Database Engineer / DBA in high-availability environments.

- Strong expertise in enterprise RDBMS:
- Oracle

- Microsoft SQL Server

- Direct experience with real-time systems:

- SCADA

- EMS

- ADMS

- Advanced SQL skills and scripting experience in Python and/or PowerShell.

- Experience managing databases on Windows and Linux platforms.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with Real-Time Historian databases:
- OSIsoft PI

- Client Historian

- Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).

- Experience with cloud databases

- AWS RDS

- Azure SQL

- Knowledge of utility data models (CIM) or SCADA data structures.
