Overview

We're looking for a DevOps/AWS Engineer to help build and maintain scalable cloud infrastructure and automation. You'll use your background in cloud computing, system administration, and software development to design, implement, and improve cloud solutions that are scalable, reliable, and secure. This includes improving our deployment pipelines, system performance, and disaster recovery setup.

Duties

- Build, deploy, and manage cloud infrastructure using AWS services such as EC2, S3, DynamoDB, SQS, SES, SNS, ECS+ECR, EKS, ALB/ELB, and Autoscaling Groups (with Spot when possible), using CloudFormation or Terraform for infrastructure as code (IaC).
- Automate configuration management and deployment using tools like Ansible, Puppet, Chef, or AWS-native solutions.
- Containerize applications with Docker and orchestrate microservices with ECS or EKS for high availability and scalability.
- Monitor system health and performance using tools like Prometheus, Grafana, and Elasticsearch to visualize undesireable trends and catch issues before they cause downtime.
- Set up CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins, GitHub, or GitLab to speed up software delivery while following GitOps and DevSecOps principles.
- Manage system security AWS IAM, SSO integration, tight security group rules, and up-to-date VPN solutions such as WireGuard.




- Work with the development team to gather requirements for enterprise software projects across multiple languages, and support testing, QA, and release management.

Experience

- Proven experience in cloud computing environments such as AWS (must have).
- Strong background in Linux/Unix system administration (must have).
- Hands-on experience with containerization/orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes (must have).
- Skilled in scripting languages such as Python and Bash for automation tasks (minimum requirement, not limited to these languages).
- Understanding of distributed systems architecture, microservices design patterns, and enterprise deployment practices.
- Experience with database systems like MySQL/MariaDB, Oracle, and DynamoDB, and comfort writing SQL/PLSQL queries (minimum requirement, not limited to these databases).
- Familiarity with the software development life cycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies like Scrum or Kanban.
- Able to troubleshoot issues related to web services (REST/SOAP), TCP/IP networking, firewalls, DNS, and disaster recovery planning.
