JOB POSTING - DIETARY AIDE/PORTER “How do you live in the moment?” The Dietary Aide reports to the Food Service Manager/Food Service Supervisor and is expected to demonstrate commitment to resident safety by preparing meals directed by the cook for individual residents and by providing high-quality care in accordance with the organization's vision and mission. Receives verbal/written endorsement regarding changes in resident status Reports observations to Food Service Manager/Supervisor relating to resident care and others (food preferences, likes & dislikes, intake) Ongoing delivery of customer service with staff, residents, families, and the public Ensuring optimal quality of life for each resident by the delivery of individualized resident care Follow therapeutic interventions according to resident’s plan of care Contributing to the overall pleasurable dining experience of our residents during mealtimes Report faulty equipment and ensure removal from unit Completion of documentation record of every shift (food temperature, freezer, fridge, sanitizer, dish machine, equipment checklist audit, cleaning checklists etc.)



Adhering to Infection Prevention and Control and Secure Food Handling procedures Required to understand the nature and meaning of quality indicators used by the Home and to understand which indicators are publicly reported. Monitor and maintain inventory for work areas and communicate needs to the Cook or Food Services Supervisor/Food Services Manager Food Handler Certification given by Public Health or a certified agency Able to work flexible hours, such as emergency situations Be knowledgeable of the Ministry of Long-Term Care, Public Health and Home’s rules, regulations, policies and procedures.

Ability to communicate both orally and in writing To show evidence of being person centered and customer focused when interacting and knowing how to turn a task into positive social interaction. To undertake and meet all legal requirements within a context of promoting individuals’ rights and measuring/reducing elements of risk Clear vulnerable sector screening (within the last 6 months), recent TB test results (within the last 6 months) or a chest X-ray (within the last 1 year), Vaccination requirements are subject to changes as determined by the Employer Competitive wages Employee and Family Assistance Program Support for personal and professional growth #
