Presbyterian Healthcare Services (PHS) seeks a highly analytical, collaborative, and strategically minded finance leader to serve as its inaugural Director, Financial Reporting – Net Patient Revenue. This role represents a significant opportunity to shape and modernize one of the most critical financial functions within a large, integrated healthcare system. As healthcare reimbursement models continue to evolve and financial complexity increases, accurate net patient revenue reporting has become a strategic imperative.

Reporting directly to the Vice President of Finance Strategy, this leader will establish standardized processes, improve financial transparency, and strengthen accountability across the enterprise. The Director will serve as the organization’s subject matter expert for net patient revenue accounting, reporting, forecasting, and reconciliation. The successful candidate will combine deep technical accounting expertise with healthcare financial acumen, process improvement capabilities, and the ability to translate complex financial data into actionable business insights.

Remote: Open to applicants in the United States, excluding CA, IL, ND, NY, OH, WA, and WY.

Hybrid: For individuals within 60 miles of Albuquerque, in-office presence is required Tuesday through Thursday.

Financial

Reporting & Revenue Accounting Oversee all financial reporting activities related to net patient revenue, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and compliance with U.Lead the accounting and reporting processes associated with net patient revenue across hospital and professional billing operations. Coordinate preparation of quarterly continuing bond disclosures, including management discussion and analysis. Ensure accurate accounting, reporting, and reconciliation of the HDAA directed payments program.

Serve as the organizational subject matter expert for net patient revenue accounting and reporting methodologies.

Net Patient Revenue

Forecasting & Analytics Lead forecasting activities related to net patient revenue, contractual allowances, and reimbursement trends. Oversee implementation and optimization of the contractual discounts and allowances (CD&A;) estimation tool. Provide executive leadership with actionable insights regarding revenue performance, emerging risks, and reimbursement trends. Develop and enhance reporting capabilities to improve visibility into net patient revenue performance.

Process

Improvement & Systems Optimization Standardize enterprise-wide processes for net patient revenue reporting, forecasting, and reconciliation. Partner with Finance Systems and IT teams to optimize data flow between revenue cycle, billing,



and financial reporting systems. Support implementation and integration of Kodiak Revenue Cycle Analytics for Hospital and Physician Billing.

Participate in strategic finance initiatives, including cost accounting modernization and Strata implementation efforts.

Revenue

Reconciliation & Financial Integrity Establish standardized reconciliation processes across hospital and professional billing systems. Strengthen internal controls related to patient revenue accounting and financial reporting. Partner with operational leaders and revenue cycle teams to improve data integrity and reporting transparency.

Maintain compliance with evolving accounting standards, reimbursement regulations, and audit requirements. Build and lead the organization’s net patient revenue reporting function. Recruit, mentor, and develop finance professionals focused on net patient revenue accounting and analytics.

Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, and analytical rigor. Serve as a trusted advisor to finance and operational leaders throughout the organization. Provide executive leadership with accurate, timely, and meaningful financial analyses related to net patient revenue performance.

Support development of business cases and financial analyses for strategic initiatives. Collaborate with operational and finance leaders to improve data-driven decision making. Serve as a key liaison between Revenue Cycle, Financial Reporting, Government Reimbursement, and Operational Finance teams.

Successfully establish and operationalize a standardized net patient revenue reporting framework across the enterprise. Lead successful implementation and adoption of the recent contractual discounts and allowances (CD&A;) estimation tool. Improve forecasting accuracy and strengthen transparency surrounding net patient revenue performance.

Develop standardized reconciliation processes that reduce reporting discrepancies and enhance financial integrity. GAAP, reimbursement regulations, and audit requirements related to net patient revenue. Build organizational expertise and establish a high-performing team focused on net patient revenue accounting and reporting.

Support successful implementation of strategic finance initiatives,



including Kodiak Revenue Cycle Analytics and Strata cost accounting capabilities. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required. Master’s degree preferred.

Knowledge & Work Experience ~8–10 years of progressive accounting or finance experience. ~ Minimum of 3–5 years of healthcare finance or accounting experience with direct responsibility for net patient revenue, reimbursement, revenue cycle, or financial reporting functions. ~ Strong experience with net patient revenue forecasting, contractual allowance estimation, reconciliation, and revenue analysis. ~ Demonstrated healthcare financial reporting experience within a hospital, health system, physician group, or integrated delivery network. ~ Experience with Epic, Kodiak Revenue Cycle Analytics (formerly Crowe), Strata, or similar healthcare finance platforms preferred. ~ Experience partnering across Finance, Revenue Cycle, Reimbursement, and Operational leadership functions.
