University invites applications for a full-time Director of Campus Life position. The Director of Campus Life provides strategic day-to-day leadership to the department of Campus Life supervising professional and student staff to ensure delivery of student-ready, safe, inclusive, equitable and responsive student services. The Director will lead the overall design, planning, direction and administration of the operational, programmatic, financial and staffing functions of the Campus Life working collaboratively with a diverse team to deliver engaging recent student orientation programs, provide inclusive and creative student activities, support student clubs and organizations, and provide services to the community through the Information Desk. The Director of Campus Life serves as as a key member of the Student Affairs, Equity and Belonging Leadership Team. The Director of Campus life will:

- Hire, train, and provide feedback and performance evaluations to Campus Life supervisees.
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of Campus Life, including the Student Organization Center, the University Information Desk, and student clubs and organizations, to include staff development and supervision, oversight of facilities, budgeting development and management, marketing, communications and assessment of services and student learning outcomes.
- In collaboration with the Director of Residence Life, provide guidance to Residence Life team members with cross-assignments to Campus Life initiatives
- .Oversee and manage all registered student organizations including financial, risk, programmatic, operational, programming, assessment, and administrative management.
- Advise/Co-Advise student government organizations for all three colleges
- Oversee with support of the Associate Director, student leadership development and training programs including, but not limited to SGA , campus activity board ( SEEK ) leaders, orientation leaders and student organization officers. Ensure programs assist students, student organizations, student leaders, and advisors in gaining the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform leadership functions such as event planning, budget development, policy interpretation, conflict management, basic governance and leadership skills.
- With the support of a cross-campus committee and the Associate and Assistant Directors, design, plan, and implement engaging, inclusive, and accessible new student Orientation programs




- Leverage cross-campus working groups, Campus Life staff and student organizations to lead the development and coordination of cultural, social, and recreational activities that reflect the University’s mission and diverse population and foster campus traditions and milestones.
- With Student Affairs, Equity and Belonging divisional leadership, develop leadership training and micro-credentialing opportunities for students.
- Serve as a student conduct hearing officer.
- Serve on-call in university duty rotation, responding to emergencies after hours and on weekends when on call.
- Develop and maintain appropriate protocols and procedure manuals for the department, Division, and University as necessary.
- Represent Campus Life on designated committees, working collaboratively to engage partners in programs and initiatives and co-leading campus working groups. Communicate regularly with Student Affairs, Equity and Belonging leadership and campus stakeholders.
- Assist with large Student Affairs and campus events with day/night-of logistics support.
- Demonstrate timely responses to student concerns including follow up with students who have been referred to the Director due to complicated or unresolved issues within area of responsibility
- Maintain effective relationships with campus and community partners.
- Foster positive and professional relationships with students.
- Perform other duties consistent with the operational and administrative responsibilities of the position.

Minimum Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in a related field (communication, education, social work, education, psychology, etc.)
- Five (5) years of full-time experience leading higher education (or higher education adjacent) initiatives related to student development, student engagement, residential living, and leadership development.
- Demonstrated experience of supervising full-time professional staff
- Demonstrated positive impacts across diverse populations with culturally relevant program development and administration
- Experience in decision-making, budget management,



and ability to work effectively in a team relationship.
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with proficiency in analytical and critical thinking with the ability to make decisions following appropriate consultation.
- Higher education experience related to working within student affairs units such as residence life, student activities, orientation, and campus events.

Preferred Qualifications

- Master’s degree in a related field (communication, higher education administration, counseling, social work, education, psychology, etc.)
- 2+ years supervising full-time professional staff
- Experience in new student orientation
- Experience advising student government associations
- Experience related to managing several divergent tasks simultaneously, managing change, and advising student organizations.
- Experience with on-call/emergency response
- Experience with student conduct

Compensation:

Annual wage is $56,781 – $82,200 depending on qualifications and experience.

The salary range listed reflects a good-faith estimate of what we reasonably anticipate to pay for this position, based on market data and internal equity, at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be determined based on qualifications, experience, skills, and other relevant factors. St. Catherine reserves the right to modify or adjust compensation depending on University needs.
