About the Role

We are looking for a passionate Early Childhood Educator to join our team.

Our educators create stimulating, safe, and nurturing environments where children can thrive. Strong communication skills are essential, as you’ll be supporting families and working collaboratively with a dedicated team.

Key Responsibilities

- Implement the YMCA Playing to Learn Curriculum to support children’s development and learning.
- Create inclusive environments that reflect the diversity of children and families in our care.
- Plan and assess developmentally appropriate indoor and outdoor learning experiences.
- Use a variety of teaching techniques including modeling, observing, questioning, and reinforcing.
- Communicate openly and effectively with the Director, Assistant Director, and team members.
- Collaborate with colleagues to maintain a positive and qualified work environment.




- Follow all policies and procedures, including behavior guidance, child protection, and confidentiality.
- Attend professional development workshops, curriculum training, and monthly staff meetings.
- Supervise student placements and complete required documentation.
- Maintain classroom organization, cleanliness, and setup.
- Administer and document medications, action plans, and behavior charts as needed.
- Build meaningful relationships with children, families, and the community.

Qualifications

- Valid ECE classification with the Nova Scotia Government
- Experience working in licensed childcare settings preferred
- Strong understanding of child development and inclusive practices
- Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively
- Commitment to YMCA values and child protection standards

Pay: $25.61-$32.19 per hour
