We are seeking an experienced
Electroplater to join our plating operation in Newmarket. The successful candidate must have hands‑on experience working with cyanide-based copper plating and other specification-driven plating processes.
Approximately
50% of this position will involve cyanide copper plating , so strong experience with cyanide copper chemistry, process control, and safe chemical handling is essential.
Key Responsibilities
Perform electroplating according to customer specifications, work instructions, and quality standards.
Operate and monitor cyanide copper plating processes.
Perform plating with metals such as:
Copper
Nickel
Gold
Silver
Tin
Set up and operate both rack and barrel plating processes.
Prepare parts for plating, including cleaning, rinsing, activating, and masking when required.
Monitor plating times, temperatures, current density, solution levels, and other process parameters.
Inspect finished parts for plating thickness, coverage, appearance, adhesion, and overall quality.
Make appropriate process adjustments to maintain plating specifications.
Complete production and quality documentation accurately.
Identify and report plating defects, equipment issues, or chemical/process concerns.
Follow all procedures for safely handling cyanide-based solutions, chemicals, and hazardous materials.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
Follow all company health and safety, environmental, and quality requirements.
Qualification
Previous hands-on experience as an industrial electroplater is required.
Strong experience with cyanide copper plating is essential.
Experience with copper, nickel, gold, silver, and tin plating is preferred.
Experience with both rack and barrel plating is required.
Experience working in a specification plating environment is strongly preferred.
Ability to read and follow plating specifications, work instructions, and process sheets.
Knowledge of plating chemistry, solution controls, current density, plating thickness, and defect troubleshooting.
Robust understanding of chemical handling and workplace safety procedures.
Good attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
Ability to work independently and as part of a production team.
Reliable and interested in a stable, long-term position.
