The Energy Auditor will support FRESCo’s diverse building energy and decarbonization retrofit projects and programs with a priority focus on fieldwork, energy audits, energy benchmarking, supporting other studies, communicating with clients and producing professional energy efficiency reports. This is a role for someone who has a robust initiative, willing to regularly travel locally and who has a passion for making a difference in our communities by improving buildings. We pursue work that helps our environment, community and clients thrive. ~ Excellence: We are committed to using our unique expertise to provide our clients with high value and quality. ~ While we are flexible in project delivery, we never compromise our values. ~ Collaboration: We work collaboratively with each other, our clients, competitors, and the broader community. ~ Conduct energy assessments and study site visits. ~ Energy benchmarking and related analysis. ~ Conduct technical analysis independently and under the supervision of senior engineers/energy managers. ~ Produce professional energy assessment/study reports and other construction documents independently, and in collaboration with other team members. ~ Communicate with clients, vendors, and contractors in person, via phone, and in writing. ~ Conduct research and analysis on topics related to energy efficiency, electrification, and decarbonization. ~ Support other FRESCo projects and services.
Post-secondary education in Mechanical Systems (e.g., BCIT diploma), or Engineering (mechanical or electrical), Energy Management (e.g., Experience, or capacity to develop experience quickly, with conducting energy assessments and/or studies in multi-family and/or commercial facilities including site visits/data collection, analysis and professional report generation.
~ Familiarity with building retrofit or construction projects, ideally in multi-unit residential and commercial buildings. ~ Familiarity with multi-unit residential/commercial building HVAC systems required. ~ Familiarity with building electrical systems and building enclosure is an asset. ~ Experience with Microsoft Office, with intermediate + proficiency in Excel. ~ Experience using tools to support energy analysis and reporting (list tools you are familiar with). ~ Excellent English communication skills, including strong writing skills. ~ Energy modelling skills an asset (list software applications you are familiar with). ~ C. driver’s license. ~ Own a vehicle, able and willing to travel for site visits locally regularly and occasionally on multi-day trips to non-local areas. Based in Metro Vancouver, BC or demonstrate concrete plan to relocate to this area. ~ Desire and ability to work from home full-time (i.e. have dedicated workspace). ~ Be willing to travel up to 50% of the time (within Canada), some weekend travel and flight travel will be required. ~ Methodological approach to completing projects from start to finish within set timelines and excellent attention to detail. ~ Work well under pressure and know how to balance timeline expectations with quality results. ~ Able to pass a criminal record check. ~ Ability to assess and execute time-sensitive action items, shift focus between changing priorities and demonstrate excellent organizational skills. ~ Work from home/flexible hours. ~ Competitive salary. ~ Competitive benefits (health plan & spending account, life & disability insurance, 3 weeks’ vacation). ~ We are an equal opportunity employer who celebrates diversity and is committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees. #
