Tusk Automation builds control panels, low voltage switchgear, MCCs and e-house systems for mining and resource clients around the world. Tusk delivers the process, mechanical, electrical and control engineering behind them. We are hiring an Electrical Designer to work in EPLAN Electric P8.

The roleYou produce the electrical design for our panel and control projects. Our engineers set the system architecture and you turn it into a complete, buildable package that the shop and the field can work from. You own the drawings.

What you will design

- Industrial control panels and PLC panels
- Motor control centres and low voltage switchgear
- VFD panels
- E-house and power distribution systems

The Work

- Electrical schematics, panel layouts and wiring diagrams in EPLAN Electric P8
- Bills of material, cable schedules and shop documentation
- As-built drawings and operation and maintenance manuals
- Review and improve our drawing templates, parts library and engineering standards
- Work with production, project management, engineering and field service through the build
- Support troubleshooting and redesign during manufacturing and commissioning
- Keep designs compliant with CSA standards, the Canadian Electrical Code, and UL 508A where it applies

Qualifications

- Robust working experience in EPLAN P8 and ProPanel




- EPLAN parts library and macro development
- Solid understanding of electrical schematics, panel layouts and control system architecture
- Familiarity with CSA and UL panel standards
- Ability to read and interpret electrical specifications, schematics and other electrical drawings
- Ability to work independently across several projects and deadlines
- Clear communication with engineers, project managers, and shop and field crews
- Technical diploma or degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or a related field or equivalent work experience
- Medium voltage equipment, protection relays or generator control systems

What we offer

- Work remotely from anywhere in Canada, hybrid, or on-site at our Kamloops shop, whichever suits you. Remote candidates should expect to be in Kamloops periodically.
- $75,000 to $90,000 per year, based on experience
