- Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of private events, corporate functions, group business, and banquet operations.
- Drive event revenue by achieving sales targets and identifying opportunities to grow bookings and repeat business.
- Manage client relationships from initial inquiry and quotation through event execution and follow-up.
- Prepare event proposals, quotes, event details, and related documentation.
- Build strong relationships with corporate clients, event planners, local organizations, and repeat customers.
- Provide leadership, coaching, training, and mentorship to the banquet and events team.
- Identify high-potential team members and support their development into future leadership roles.
- Ensure all events are executed according to established service, presentation, and hospitality standards.
- Coordinate closely with culinary leadership to ensure menus, timing, staffing, and service expectations are aligned.
- Participate in weekly event order meetings and ensure all departments are fully prepared for upcoming functions.
- Manage labour scheduling and staffing levels based on event volume and business needs.
- Monitor labour productivity and event-related costs while maintaining strong service standards.
- Oversee event inventory planning, equipment, supplies, and operational readiness.
- Resolve client concerns, service issues, and operational challenges quickly and professionally.
- Maintain strong communication across restaurant, culinary, hotel, sales, and senior leadership teams.
- Support continuous improvement in event sales, service standards, operating procedures, and guest experience.
Requirements
- Previous leadership experience in events, banquets, restaurants, hotels, or a comparable hospitality environment.
- Demonstrated experience managing private events, corporate functions, banquets, or group business.
- Strong sales orientation with experience achieving event revenue or booking targets.
- Proven ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
- Experience leading, training, scheduling, and developing hospitality teams.
- Robust organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple events and priorities.
- Solid understanding of labour management, scheduling, inventory planning, and event operations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to remain composed in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work collaboratively with culinary, restaurant, hotel, sales, and senior leadership teams.
- Flexible availability based on event schedules and business requirements.
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
