Reporting to the Director of OAKLearning Center, the French Tutor is responsible for either teaching enrichment French classes for core French, French Immersion or providing private tutorial services for individual student, or both. OAKLearning is looking for a highly motivated and dedicated teachers to ensure formidable learning experiences for all students.

OAKLearning tutors are expected to have a high level of expertise in their teaching discipline as effective, stimulating and competent facilitators of the educational process. We are looking for both elementary and secondary Academic Tutors across all subject areas including Mathematics, Science, English, ESL, and French in both a full time or a part time capacity.

Responsibilities include

- Creating, researching and obtaining curriculum and tutorial tools that suit the needs of the student.
- Develop long and short term goals with the learner to ensure academic goals met.
- With the support of education counselor, arrange appropriate times to meet with the learner.




- Assist students in developing self-confidence in performing academic work
- Liason with Parents and staff to exchange information
- Collaborate with Educational Counsellor to ensure individualized program is implemented in accordance to student needs.
- Requirements
- 4-year Bachelor Degree in any area of study, preference given to Bachelor of Education candidates.
- Ontario Certified Teacher an asset (in Good Standing)
- Intimate knowledge and experience of the Ontario French Immersion and Core French curriculum is a must.
- Previous experience tutoring students one-on-on, small group or classroom teaching
- Comfortable working in cross-cultural setting, specifically, ESL students.
- Necessary skills include strong interpersonal skills, decision-making, organized, and self-motivated.
