Larch Grove Farm Ltd. is seeking a reliable general farm worker to assist with daily operations on our dairy farm, milking approximately 350 Holstein cows using six DeLaval robotic milking systems.
Main duties
- Feed and water cattle and calves, distribute feed and clean water troughs.
- Assist with robotic milking, bring cows to the robots and clean milking equipment and surrounding areas.
- Scrape pens and alleys, remove manure, spread fresh bedding and maintain clean livestock facilities.
- Observe cattle for signs of illness or injury and report concerns to the supervisor.
- Assist with calf care and safely move and handle cattle.
- Operate farm equipment for feeding, bedding and barn cleaning as trained.
- Assist with routine maintenance of farm buildings, fences and equipment.
- Assist with seasonal fieldwork and feed storage as required.
- Follow farm safety, biosecurity and animal welfare procedures.
Requirements:
Dairy farm experience is an asset. Applicants must be comfortable working with cattle, able to perform physical farm work, follow instructions and work independently and as part of a team. Reliability and attention to animal care and cleanliness are essential. Work includes weekends and holidays on a scheduled basis.
Pay: $16.35-$19.42 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 – 50.0 per week
