What you’ll be doing

As a student on our Global Investment Banking team, you will be making a real difference to our clients by helping to provide customized financing and advisory solutions. With offices located in Canada, the United States, Europe, Asia and Australia, our Global Investment Banking group provides equity and debt underwriting as well as corporate finance advisory services to corporations and institutions through a number of industry and product groups. This is a great opportunity to be a part of a group of professionals ranging from Analysts to Managing Directors who are dedicated to advising clients.

Within the Montreal office, you will be aligned with our Global Investment Banking Montreal team. At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. To successfully perform the work, you’ll be in office full-time.

The expected annualized base salary for this role is $105,000

The base salary is determined by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s skills, experience, and job-related knowledge, as well as geographic location and specific business needs. Our compensation philosophy supports ongoing growth and development, enabling progression within the salary range as team members advance in their roles.

Important information

You are enrolled in an undergraduate degree in Commerce, Economics or related at the time of the internship. You are on track to complete your undergrad program no sooner than August 2027. Please indicate your expected graduation date on your resume.

Location: Montreal. Please note all employees must work within their current jurisdiction and must reside within Canada. All CIBC student positions require you to be based in Canada for the duration of the term.

Duration of the internship: 4 months (January 2027 – April 2027). This job posting closes on 18th September 2026, 11:59PM EST.

How you’ll succeed

- Research and analytics – Provide a broad range of analytical, research and presentation preparation support to the team.




- Project management – Assigned to a variety of transactions and advisory projects such as mergers & acquisitions, divestitures, equity and debt financings, strategic advisory/alternatives projects and full capital structure solution projects.
- Relationship management – Gain exposure to working with individuals from various groups across the firm and our team approach to executing coverage and financing assignments is designed to provide progressive on the job training.
