We are seeking a dedicated Healthcare Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will support patient care activities, assist nursing staff, and ensure smooth daily operations within a clinical setting. Bilingual proficiency in English and French is highly desirable to effectively serve diverse patient populations.
The Healthcare
Assistant will play a vital role in delivering high-quality care and maintaining efficient healthcare services.
Duties
- Assist with patient care activities including bathing, dressing, and mobility support
- Support nursing staff with medication administration and documentation
- Maintain accurate records using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members
- Manage medical supplies and ensure proper inventory levels
- Operate computer systems for data entry and medical record management
- Provide excellent customer service to patients and visitors
- Follow safety protocols and assist with infection control procedures
- Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and managing patient files
- Utilize medical terminology accurately in documentation and communication
Qualifications
- Proven experience or training in acute care or nursing support preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and computer operation skills
- Robust knowledge of medical terminology and medication administration procedures
- Excellent communication skills in both English and French; bilingual ability is a plus
- Exceptional organizational skills and time management abilities
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment
- Compassionate attitude with a focus on patient-centered care
- Prior experience in customer service is advantageous
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
