Summary:

Responsibilities:
- Workers' Compensation Board (WCB) Case Management:
- Manage occupational injury and illness claims across multiple Canadian provinces.
- Serve as the primary liaison with provincial Workers' Compensation Boards.
- Coordinate return-to-work planning and case progression with employees, supervisors, healthcare providers, WCB representatives, and employee assistance plan representatives.
- Maintain WCB accounts and ensure compliance with provincial reporting requirements.
- Partner with payroll and internal stakeholders to ensure WCB claim-related documentation and account administration is accurate and up to date.
- Monitor claim status, costs, and opportunities for early intervention and successful return-to-work outcomes.
- Disability Management & Workplace Accommodations:
- Evaluate accommodation requests and recommend alternative work arrangements if required.
- Coordinate alternative workplace accommodation plans in collaboration with physicians, employees, managers, P&C;, and other stakeholders.
- Provide guidance regarding modified duties, fitness-for-work recommendations, and return-to-work strategies.
- Support compliance with provincial disability management and accommodation requirements.
- Alcohol & Drug Program Management:
- Manage occupational health-related aspects of alcohol and drug testing cases.
- Coordinate post-test requirements for employees who fail drug or alcohol testing requirements.
- Work closely with Employee Assistance Program (EAP) providers to support assessment and rehabilitation processes.
- Track recommendations, treatment plans, follow-up testing schedules, documentation, and return-to-work requirements.
- Maintain confidentiality and secure handling of sensitive employee health information.
- Health Surveillance Program Oversight:
- Support administration and oversight of occupational health surveillance programs.
- Partner with third-party provider to coordinate health surveillance activities.
- Monitor medical surveillance processes and employee health records in accordance with privacy requirements.
- Provide operational oversight and subject matter expertise for the implementation and ongoing management of a health surveillance automation system.
- Program Administration & Compliance:
- Maintain strict confidentiality of employee medical and personal health information.
- Support compliance with applicable provincial occupational health and privacy regulations.
- Develop and maintain documentation, case files, and program records.
- Collaborate with HSE, P&C;, Legal, Payroll, and external healthcare providers on employee health matters.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to occupational health and employee wellness programs.
Requirements:
- Experience managing Workers' Compensation Board (WCB) claims and return-to-work programs.
- Demonstrated experience coordinating workplace accommodations and disability management programs.
- Robust understanding of provincial workers' compensation legislation and processes.
- Experience working with sensitive employee medical information and maintaining confidentiality.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with employees, leadership, healthcare professionals, and regulatory agencies.
- Excellent case management, organization, documentation, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment while collaborating with a national team.
- Experience with SAP preferred.
Preferred Skills:
- Registered Nurse (RN), Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), Occupational Health Nurse, or similar healthcare background.
- Occupational health, employee wellness, disability management, or healthcare case management experience.
- Experience supporting employees in industrial, manufacturing, energy, oil & gas, or field-service environments.
- Multi-provincial WCB experience.
- Experience administering alcohol and drug testing programs.
- Knowledge of Canadian occupational health, disability management, and accommodation practices.
