Job Title: Java Micro App QE – Salesbuilder

Location: Toronto, Ontario "Hybrid" (3 days a week in office)

We are looking for a Quality Manager to support the testing and quality assurance of micro applications. The candidate will be responsible for validating Java-based microservices applications, ensuring functional accuracy, integration readiness, API reliability, and overall application quality across releases.

Required Skills & Qualifications (Must-have qualifications that candidates must meet to be considered)

- 5 years of experience in QA / Quality Engineering
- Minimum 2 years of experience testing Java-based microservices or API-driven applications
- Solid experience in Quality Engineering / QA testing
- Good understanding of Java-based microservices and micro applications
- Experience in API testing using Postman, Swagger, REST Assured, or similar tools
- Strong knowledge of SDLC, STLC, and Agile / Scrum methodology
- Experience writing test cases, test execution reports, and defect documentation
- Basic to intermediate knowledge of SQL for backend validation
- Experience with defect tracking and test management tools such as JIRA, ALM, qTest, Azure DevOps
- Good analytical, debugging, and communication skills

Preferred Skills & Qualifications (Nice-to-have skills but are not required)

- Exposure to automation testing using Selenium, Java, REST Assured, Cucumber




- Experience testing applications built on Spring Boot / microservices architecture
- Knowledge of CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Git, Bitbucket
- Banking or financial domain experience
- Experience with sales, CRM, or advisor-facing applications

Day-to-Day Responsibilities (key tasks and expectations for the role)

- Analyze business requirements, user stories, and technical specifications for micro applications
- Prepare and execute test scenarios, test cases, and test data for Java-based micro app functionality
- Perform functional, regression, integration, smoke, and end-to-end testing
- Validate REST APIs / microservices using tools such as Postman, Swagger, or similar
- Collaborate with developers, product owners, and QA teams to clarify requirements and resolve defects
- Identify, document, track, and retest defects using tools such as JIRA, ALM, or Azure DevOps
- Support automation opportunities for reusable test scenarios where applicable
- Validate backend data using SQL queries and perform database testing as required
- Participate in Agile ceremonies: Sprint planning, daily stand-ups, defect triage, retrospectives
- Ensure quality deliverables within sprint timelines and release milestones
