Job Title: Solution Architect

Location: Edmonton, AB; Calgary, AB; North York, ON

The Solution Architect will focus on Operational Technology (OT) architecture, industrial systems, and infrastructure design. The role involves developing, governing, and enhancing OT architecture frameworks and ensuring alignment with enterprise IT and operational requirements.

Required Skills & Qualifications (Must-have qualifications that candidates must meet to be considered):

- 10 years of experience in Operational Technology (OT) architecture, industrial systems, and infrastructure design
- Strong expertise in OT architecture frameworks, including design patterns, reference architectures, decision trees, and technology standards
- Hands-on experience with OT platforms and vendor ecosystems such as AVEVA, Rockwell Automation, and Emerson
- Deep understanding of Industrial Control Systems (ICS), SCADA systems, and IIoT environments
- Experience designing and optimizing OT solutions aligned with enterprise IT and operational needs
- Solid knowledge of architecture governance models, compliance frameworks, and industry best practices
- Ability to translate business and operational requirements into technical architecture artifacts
- Experience creating architecture diagrams, technical specifications, roadmaps, and solution blueprints
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills in complex industrial environments
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with architects, engineers,



and business stakeholders

Preferred Skills & Qualifications (Nice-to-have skills but are not required):

- TOGAF certification
- ISA/IEC certifications
- OT/ICS security certifications

Day-to-Day Responsibilities (key tasks and expectations for the role):

- Review, enhance, and expand OT Technology Architecture documents, including design patterns, reference architectures, decision trees, and architecture standards
- Identify gaps in existing architecture and develop new architecture artifacts and frameworks
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, translate requirements into technical architecture specifications, and align solutions with industry best practices
- Review and validate proposed changes to architecture documents and architecture artifacts for leadership approval
- Perform design governance and compliance reviews for OT project designs, ensuring alignment with approved architecture standards
- Develop supporting documentation, including requirements analysis, system architecture diagrams, technical specifications, cost estimates, executive presentations, and roadmaps
- Act as OT Subject Matter Expert (SME) to educate teams on OT architecture standards and drive adoption of architecture frameworks
- Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and OT best practices to drive continuous improvement in OT architecture maturity and standardization
