Job Title: UX/UI Front-End Engineer

Location: Toronto, ON - Hybrid (4 Days WFO)

Duration: 06-12 Months

Hourly Pay Rate: 50 CAD

This role involves designing user-centered interfaces and experiences for web applications, developing responsive and interactive UI components using React and modern web technologies, and collaborating with product managers, stakeholders, and backend teams to translate requirements into functional designs.

Required Skills & Qualifications (Must-have qualifications that candidates must meet to be considered):

- 8 years of experience in UX/UI design and front-end development
- Proficiency in React, TypeScript, Redux, Tanstack, Component Design, state management, and performance optimization
- Strong portfolio demonstrating UX design and UI development work
- Experience with design tools (Figma, Adobe XD, or similar)
- Solid understanding of UX principles, user research, and design thinking
- Knowledge of HTML, CSS, and responsive design
- Experience with version control (Git)
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Preferred Skills & Qualifications (Nice-to-have skills but are not required):





- Experience with component design systems and building reusable and scalable UI libraries
- Proficiency in Storybook for isolated component development and documentation
- Robust understanding of user-centered design (UCD), design systems, wireframing, prototyping, and interaction design best practices

Day-to-Day Responsibilities (key tasks and expectations for the role):

- Design user-centered interfaces and experiences for web applications
- Develop responsive and interactive UI components using React and modern web technologies
- Collaborate with product managers, stakeholders, and backend teams to translate requirements into functional designs
- Conduct user research and usability testing to validate design decisions
- Implement accessibility best practices including WCAG compliance
- Optimize UI performance and ensure cross-browser compatibility
- Maintain design systems and component libraries
- Document design specifications and development standards
