Pay Band Nurse Practitioner $52.590 to $62.910

Advanced practice nurse with knowledge and skills gained through additional education and experience. Nurse blends an in-depth knowledge of nursing with the legal authority and autonomy to order diagnostic tests, prescribe pharmaceuticals and perform specific procedures in the management and treatment of common acute illnesses and stable chronic conditions patients. Position practices within a framework of evidence-based primary care, holism, health promotion, and disease and injury prevention.

Practice involves building partnerships with individuals, families, and communities. This includes community needs assessments; supporting inter-skilled collaboration and participating in continuous improvements through evaluative processes/projects. provides clinical assessment and treatment strategies that reflect in-depth knowledge of the care populations.

Human Resources Exemption

No Experience Three (3) years nursing experience One year experience in community needs assessment/development/health promotion Experience as RN (NP)



in a Primary Health Care setting preferred.

Education Master of Nursing - Nurse Practitioner (MN-NP) Licenses Valid Class 5 driver's license Other Education and Training Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certificate (ACLS) Certification in recognized Primary Care NP equivalent program is acceptable Basic Life Support Level C Certificate (BLS-C) Competencies Advanced - Facilitation skills Intermediate - Leadership skills Basic - Interpersonal skills Advanced - Organizational skills Basic - Communication skills to provide/obtain verbal and/or written opinions/advice Advanced - Research skills Variety of computer programs Advanced - Problem solving skills Advanced - Decision making skills Knowledge and Abilities Ability to work independently and as a member of a multi-disciplinary team Ability to competently use computers and software applications Ability to develop and deliver formal education programs Knowledge in community development Knowledge in diverse cultures, values and traditions Knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite Knowledge in health promotion and prevention strategies
