CAP Engineering (CAP) is seeking an Intermediate Civil Engineer to join our team in Newfoundland and Labrador.
The successful candidate will be a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with a strong civil engineering background and demonstrated experience in hydrologic and hydraulic modelling. This role will support a diverse range of municipal, transportation, land development, industrial, energy, and infrastructure projects across Canada.
Experience with municipal infrastructure, transportation, industrial or energy projects, GIS, climate resiliency, construction support, or project management would be considered an asset.

Responsibilities may include:
- Supporting the planning, design, and delivery of civil engineering projects
- Completing hydrologic and hydraulic analyses and modelling
- Undertaking drainage, stormwater, floodplain, watershed, and culvert analyses
- Designing stormwater management systems, drainage infrastructure, culverts, and other civil works
- Preparing and reviewing technical calculations, reports, drawings, specifications, and design documentation
- Evaluating existing infrastructure and developing practical engineering solutions
- Supporting permitting, regulatory approvals, and technical submissions
- Coordinating with clients, regulators, contractors, and multidisciplinary project teams
- Providing technical support during design and construction
- Supporting project management, proposals, scopes of work, schedules, and cost estimates
- Providing engineering review and mentorship to junior team members as required
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation is required
- Registered, or eligible for registration, with PEGNL
- Approximately 5-10 years of relevant engineering experience
- Demonstrated experience with hydrologic and hydraulic modelling
- Experience with software such as HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, PCSWMM/SWMM, or similar
- Broad civil engineering experience and the ability to contribute to multidisciplinary projects
- Experience with stormwater management, drainage design, flood studies, culvert design, or watershed analysis
- Strong technical writing, analysis, design, and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and client-service skills
- Ability to manage priorities and work effectively both independently and as part of a team
