Duties

- Assist in monitoring and analyzing network traffic using tools such as SIEM (Security Information and Event Management) systems like Splunk or SolarWinds to identify potential security threats.
- Support the configuration and management of firewalls (e.g., Cisco ASA), VPNs, and intrusion detection systems to ensure robust network security.
- Contribute to the implementation of security protocols aligned with ISO 27001/27002 standards to protect organizational data and infrastructure.
- Help conduct vulnerability research using tools like Nmap, Nessus, or other scanning utilities to identify system weaknesses.
- Participate in incident response activities by investigating security alerts, documenting findings, and assisting with remediation efforts.
- Collaborate on network support tasks including troubleshooting routing protocols (OSPF, BGP), DNS/ DHCP configuration, and network architecture design.
- Gain exposure to cloud computing platforms such as AWS,



Google Cloud Platform, or Azure by supporting cloud infrastructure projects with tools like Terraform or Ansible for automation.

Experience

- Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or related field with a strong academic record.
- Familiarity with computer networking concepts including TCP/IP, LAN/WAN architectures, routing protocols (EIGRP, OSPF), and network protocols such as HTTPS, SSH, SNMP.
- Basic understanding of operating systems like Windows, Linux (CentOS), Solaris, macOS, and their system administration tools.
- Knowledge of security analysis techniques including vulnerability assessment and system security best practices.
- Experience with scripting languages such as Python or Bash for automation tasks is a plus.
- Exposure to IT frameworks like COBIT or ITIL is advantageous but not required.
- Demonstrated interest in cybersecurity topics such as encryption methods (PKI), identity & access management (Active Directory, LDAP), high availability systems, disaster recovery planning, and cloud architecture.
