Job Title: Internal Auditor

Location: York Region, ON

Job Type: Permanent

Salary: $74,500-$94,000/year

Work Model: In Office

Our client in York Region, ON is actively looking for an Internal Auditor to join their team.

Responsibilities:

- Plan, execute, and report on internal audits in accordance with IIA Standards and internal audit methodology.

- Perform risk assessments to identify key business, operational, financial, and compliance risks.

- Evaluate both the design effectiveness and operating effectiveness of controls.

- Conduct independent audit and SOX testing and complete work within established timelines.

- Perform interviews, documentation reviews, walkthroughs, and data analysis to gather audit evidence.

- Maintain risk assessments for assigned processes and identify opportunities for control improvements.

- Track remediation activities and perform follow-up testing on identified deficiencies.

- Prepare audit and SOX deficiency reports for management and executive leadership.

- Collaborate with Compliance, Enterprise Risk Management, and other Second Line of Defense functions.

Key Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.





- 2+ years of experience in Internal Audit, External Audit, Risk Management, Controls, or Compliance.

- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.

- Experience preparing professional reports, presentations, and deliverables for senior leadership audiences.

- Familiarity with audit analytics tools such as Power BI (preferred).

- Experience with audit management systems .

- Solid analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Ability to assess risks, identify control gaps, and recommend practical solutions.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

- Ability to simplify and communicate complex audit, risk, and compliance topics effectively.

- Highly adaptable and team-oriented with strong stakeholder relationship-building skills.

- Ability to build trust and maintain open communication throughout audit engagements.

- Strong organizational and time-management skills.

- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain high-quality work in a fast-paced environment.
