POSITION SUMMARY The Inventory Control Specialist ensures that physical inventory and ERP records remain accurate and aligned in real time throughout the manufacturing operation.
Working closely with Production, Quality, Warehouse, Shipping, Receiving, and the ERP Specialist, the role monitors material movements, investigates discrepancies, and strengthens inventory-control practices.
The position covers raw materials, WIP, finished goods, inspection, NCR/MRB, repairs, subcontracting, scrap, receipts, shipments, and intercompany or customer inventory transfers.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
ERP Transaction & Inventory Control
· Ensure every physical inventory movement is accurately recorded in the ERP system
· Ensure every ERP transaction represents material that physically exists
· Investigate missing, delayed, duplicate, unauthorized, or incorrect transactions
· Identify root causes and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence
Work Order & Production Control
· Ensure materials are picked and consumed against the correct Work Order
· Prevent duplicate or excessive picking and support barcode scanning wherever practical
· Ensure assemblies, partial production, and repair components are declared accurately and no later than the end of the working day
Location, Quality Status & Traceability
· Maintain accurate inventory locations, labels, quantities, statuses, and revision levels
· Control and reconcile inspection, NCR/MRB, repair, scrap, subcontracting, WIP, and finished-goods inventory
· Maintain traceability for materials transferred between locations, departments, sites, customers, and field-service locations
Reconciliation, Audit & Corrective Action
· Perform physical-to-ERP reconciliations, WIP reviews, cycle counts, and risk-based inventory audits
· Document and resolve variances, including shipped, received, consumed, rejected, scrapped, and remaining quantities
· Track recurring discrepancies and follow corrective actions through completion
· Escalate repeated non-compliance and support ISO and internal-control requirements
Procedures, Training & Continuous Improvement
· Develop and maintain inventory-control procedures, work instructions, and regular control routines
· Train operational employees on inventory requirements and proper ERP transactions
· Improve material flow, location control, barcode scanning, and transaction practices in collaboration with the ERP Specialist and operational teams
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
· Have a bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field
· Have 3–5 years of experience in inventory control, materials management, warehouse operations, or manufacturing
· Have strong knowledge of ERP/MRP inventory transactions, manufacturing material flow, Work Orders, cycle counting, and reconciliation
· Have experience with WIP, finished goods, NCR/MRB, scrap, repairs, or subcontracting inventory
· Have advanced Excel, data-analysis, and root-cause problem-solving skills
· Are comfortable working regularly on the manufacturing floor and occasionally lifting inventory items up to 25 lbs.
· Demonstrate strong attention to detail and the ability to investigate discrepancies through resolution
· Demonstrate accountability, organization, autonomy, and consistent follow-through
· Communicate effectively and challenge non-compliance professionally across operational teams
· Experience with barcode scanning, Lean Manufacturing, ISO systems, or multi-site manufacturing is an asset

Pay: $60,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
