Location: Toronto – hybrid- 2 days per week in office

Mercer's Mercer Global Investments Canada Limited team is seeking a Delegated Solutions, Investment Operations Specialist for our Toronto office. This is an 18-month contract position.

The Investment Operations Specialist will provide operational and application support to Delegated Solutions end users of Charles River Investment Management Solution (CRIMS) by interacting with the teams to manage day-to-day queries. This includes troubleshooting and resolving issues, addressing various types of requests, and application configuration. The successful candidate will work closely with the Operations and Investment teams, Client Service, Information Technology and vendors including Charles River and State Street.

We will count on you to:
- Collaborate with Operations and Investments teams, Client Service, Information Technology, Finance, consultants, contractors, vendors, and other groups both internal and external to provide support through the investment lifecycle;
- Support teams by providing assistance with ad hoc requests received from external service providers and/or internal stakeholders;
- Document, review and update all CRIMS (Charles River Investment Management Solution) related issues, inquiries and change requests including internal Mercer issues;
- Analyze complex trading system incidents to identify the root cause of the incident and the course of action to resolution;
- Engage Charles River support teams to resolve issues as required;
- Complete project documentation as needed including business requirements, test plans and test results (QA, UAT and Regression testing)
- Test CRIMS workflows based on various scenarios requested by the teams, and share outcomes and test results with the stakeholders to ensure the results meets their expectations;
- Assist with the implementation of new business onto CRIMS;
- Participate in data analysis and validation, and develop an understanding of the sources and uses of the data;
- Be innovative and drive "outside the box” thinking. Solve difficult problems as needed through proposing insightful, knowledgeable, effective solutions.
What you need to have:
- A recognized under-graduate degree in business, economics, mathematics, computer science or a related discipline;
- 3+ years' experience supporting investment trading applications from within business units;
- Strong understanding of various financial instruments,
trading lifecycle and portfolio management;
- Experience with data projects with an understanding of how the data is used from a business perspective. This would include data mapping, security master, and validating data uploads;
- Solid understanding of requirements specification and testing methodologies;
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications;
- Self-Starter with strong analytical and problem solving skills, attention to detail and the ability to work with minimum supervision;
- Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, and critical thinking skills;
- Ability to work independently and in teams on multiple projects;
- Ability to multi task simultaneous priorities and demands;
- Adaptable regarding working hours in order to meet deadlines and service levels, when required.
What makes you stand out:
- Experience using Charles River Investment Management Solution (CRIMS);
- Knowledge of Front, Middle and Back Office processes of an Investment management organization and related end-to-end trade execution workflows;
- Prior participation in data transformation projects using Eagle PACE;
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills;
- Functional knowledge in Pooled Funds, Equities and Fixed Income as well as Alternative Investments.

- Strategy implementation team – bridge between Charles river application and internal partners
- Involved with new product launches (Charles River)
- Charles River experience is essential
- Hours flexibility is preferred – sometimes early mornings or later afternoon/early evenings are required to work with users in different time zones
- Interview process – Zoom – likely 2 rounds
- Testing – QA, UAT, regression testing -NOT CODING, etc.
- Experienced crims user – from a business applications perspective
- 3 team members who support approximately 50 users
- Hybrid – 2 days in the office, 3 days remote – Wednesday & Thursday in the office preferred
- Hours between 7am – 6 pm, flexibility needed to work between these hours
