ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Kitchen Helper/Dishwasher to support our back-of-house team.

The successful candidate will wash and sanitize dishes, cookware and utensils; maintain clean and safe kitchen areas; remove waste; restock supplies; and assist with basic food preparation when trained and directed.

Because we operate with a small, team-oriented kitchen, the employee must be willing to assist with different kitchen-support responsibilities based on the needs of the shift.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Wash and sanitize dishes, cutlery, cookware, utensils and kitchen equipment.
- Operate the commercial dishwasher safely and correctly.
- Inspect and properly store clean items.
- Maintain a steady supply of clean dishes and cooking equipment.
- Keep the dishwashing area clean, organized and protected.
- Sweep and mop floors and clean assigned kitchen surfaces.
- Empty garbage, recycling and food-waste containers.
- Clean and sanitize sinks, racks, bins and storage areas.
- Safely use and store cleaning chemicals.
- Assist with washing, peeling, cutting and portioning ingredients when trained.
- Label, date and store prepared products as directed.
- Restock kitchen stations with approved ingredients and supplies.
- Assist with receiving and putting away deliveries.
- Help with takeout packaging and other kitchen-support duties.
- Complete assigned opening,



cleaning and closing responsibilities.
- Report damaged equipment, broken dishes, spills and safety concerns.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Previous restaurant, dishwashing or cleaning experience is preferred but not required.
- Strong attention to cleanliness and organization.
- Ability to follow instructions and established procedures.
- Ability to work efficiently during busy periods.
- Reliable, punctual and comfortable working as part of a team.
- Willingness to assist with basic food preparation.
- Food-safety certification is considered an asset or may be required.
- Availability for evenings, weekends and holidays.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Ability to bend, reach, push, pull and lift up to [20 pounds].
- Ability to perform repetitive washing, lifting and carrying tasks.
- Ability to work around water, heat, steam, cleaning products and food waste.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and sometimes noisy kitchen.
