Under direct supervision of the Laboratory Supervisor Laboratory Technician is responsible for conducting sample preparation and analysis using the appropriate analytical methods for organic and inorganic materials.

Prepare samples for analysis

- Perform sample extractions according to applicable SOPs and test methods
- Perform sample analysis, integration, and data entry into the LIMS system
- Perform method validation procedures for applicable test methods
- Maintain good laboratory housekeeping at all times
- Keep track of consumables inventory and request supplies for ordering, as required




- Follow the Quality System as documented in the Quality Assurance Manual
- University degree or college diploma in a chemistry-related field
- Basic computer literacy
- Laboratory safety and WHMIS training
- Technical knowledge of applicable test methods.

Working Conditions: This is a laboratory environment with the majority of time spent standing and working at a lab bench. Proper handling of hazardous materials is essential, following established safety procedures and wearing the required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Additionally, there may be a need for extra hours, occasional weekend work, and evenings as necessary.

Shift: Thursday to Sunday /12:00 PM to 8:00 PM on weekdays, and 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM on weekends.
