Matrix HR is seeking an experienced and motivated Lead Hand for a major industrial painting and coating project in Prince Rupert, BC. This is a key leadership role where you will oversee daily operations, coordinate crews, and maintain high productivity on a significant energy infrastructure project. The successful candidate will be a hands-on leader who can manage a crew while taking direction from the foreman and working alongside the team on the tools.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate industrial painting and coating crews to meet project milestones
- Oversee surface preparation and application of protective coatings to ensure work meets quality standards
- Maintain a strong safety culture and ensure all crew members follow site-specific protocols
- Communicate daily objectives, project requirements, and work plans clearly to the team
- Monitor crew productivity and oversee the maintenance of specialized equipment
- Ensure proper surface preparation using abrasive blasting and mechanical power tools
- Coordinate the use of industrial rigging and aerial work platforms for elevated work
- Utilize testing instruments like DFT/WFT gauges and holiday detectors to verify work integrity
- Manage equipment allocation and scheduling for efficient project execution
- Serve as the primary on-site point of contact when the Site Supervisor is away
Qualifications
- Proven experience leading industrial painting, coating, or heavy construction crews
- Robust leadership abilities with a track record of supervising and motivating workers
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to read and interpret project specifications, drawings, and work plans
- Experience on industrial, commercial, marine, or energy projects is considered a strong asset
- Ability to work the full project duration in a remote camp environment
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug and alcohol screening
- Must be located within Canada
