Windsor | 5 + Years Our client, a Personal Injury Law firm is seeking a Legal Assistant, to join their growing firm. The successful candidate will assist lawyers in the day-to-day administration of personal injury litigation files.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare, draft and revise correspondence and other documents related litigation.
- Communicate professionally with clients, insurance adjusters, experts and lawyers’ offices.
- Scheduling examinations for discovery, mediation and court appearances.
- Preparing drafts of various pleadings, orders, and other court documents.
- Compiling briefs and other documents.
- Filing.
- Managing Lawyers’ calendars.
- Other duties as required.
EDUCATION: Successful completion of a post-secondary program in a related discipline.
REQUIRED SKILLS
- Five years’ experience as an tort litigation assistant.
- Knowledge of the Rules of Civil Procedure - Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written - Positive computer skills including proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel and Outlook)
and Adobe Acrobat - Exceptionally strong organizational skills and attention to detail - Basic typing speed (40-50 wpm) - Self-starter with the ability to work independently under minimal supervision - Capable of working in a fast paced and demanding environment - Ability to deal with competing priorities - Knowledge of Filevine and Tracument is preferred.
HOURS: Permanent, full-time – 37.5 hours per week – Monday to Friday COMPENSATION:
