Join Our Growing Multidisciplinary Healthcare Team
Capsule Pharmacy is seeking a compassionate, highly organized, and patient-focused Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our multidisciplinary healthcare team in Edmonton's Westmount area.
This position offers an exciting opportunity to work collaboratively with physicians, specialists, nurses, clinic staff, pharmacists, and patients while helping deliver exceptional healthcare services. The role will initially begin as a part-time position (approximately 4 hours per day, Monday to Friday mornings) with the potential to expand into a larger or full-time role as our services continue to grow.
Position Summary The Licensed Practical Nurse will be responsible for medication reconstitution, preparation, and administration of injectable therapies, as well as providing patient support and case management services. The successful candidate will work closely with physicians, clinic teams, and pharmacy staff to ensure seamless coordination of patient care.
The primary work location will be in Edmonton's Westmount area, with occasional travel to other healthcare facilities as required to support physician clinics and patient care needs. Travel outside of the primary location is expected to be infrequent and only as needed.

Key Responsibilities
- Reconstitute, prepare, and administer injectable medications in accordance with established protocols and standards of practice
- Coordinate patient care and treatment plans with physicians,
specialists, nurses, clinic staff, and pharmacy teams
- Establish and maintain effective communication between healthcare providers, patients, and caregivers
- Ensure medications are prepared, available, and administered as prescribed
- Maintain compliance with all medication handling policies, procedures, and safety requirements
- Support patient case management activities, including enrolments, follow-up appointments, and patient education
- Assist patients with medication access, reimbursement navigation, insurance coverage, and medication-related support programs
- Provide patient training and education regarding medication use and administration
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records within electronic medical record systems
- Contribute to workflow improvement initiatives and operational efficiency
Required Qualifications
- Active Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) registration in good standing
- Professional liability insurance in good standing
- Current CPR and First Aid Certification
- Valid driver's license and access to a reliable personal vehicle
- Experience reconstituting and administering injectable medications
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build skilled relationships with patients and healthcare providers
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate care effectively with physicians, specialists,
nurses, clinic staff, and pharmacy teams
- Passion for delivering outstanding patient care and patient education
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced healthcare environment
Preferred Qualifications (Assets)
- Experience with medical insurance reimbursement programs and patient coverage navigation
- Experience supporting specialty medications and patient support programs
- Experience working with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems such as Accuro, CHR, or similar platforms
- Knowledge of patient enrolment processes and medication access programs
- Experience building and optimizing clinical workflows
