Join the Limestone District School Board as an Indigenous Social Worker. This contract role offers mental health support and interventions for Indigenous students in a culturally responsive workplace. As a vital member of the Indigenous Education Team, the Indigenous Social Worker will report to the Mental Health Lead.
You will provide both in-person and virtual counseling, focusing on equity of access for Indigenous students facing mental health and substance use challenges. This position includes educating on Indigenous resources and facilitating community partnerships. Key Responsibilities:
- Provide crisis intervention and suicide support
- Deliver culturally appropriate mental health counseling
- Collaborate with inter-professional team members
- Maintain student records in line with privacy laws
- Support district-wide mental health initiatives Requirements:
- Master's Degree in Social Work
- Registered with Ontario College of Social Workers
- Experience with Indigenous youth and community
- Knowledge in cognitive behavior therapy (CBT)
