NOW HIRING — LINE COOK / GARDE MANGER

ALBA, an upscale Italian restaurant in Toronto’s Little Italy, is looking for an experienced Line Cook / Garde Manger to join our kitchen team.

We are looking for someone with a robust foundation in Italian cuisine, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to maintain high standards of quality, consistency, and presentation during busy service.

Requirements

- Minimum 3–5 years of professional kitchen experience
- Previous experience in an Italian restaurant is required
- Experience in an upscale or chef-driven restaurant is strongly preferred
- Strong knife skills and solid understanding of proper cooking and preparation techniques
- Experience with Garde Manger, salads, appetizers, cold station, and line service
- Strong understanding of mise en place, portion control, plating, and food quality
- Able to work cleanly, efficiently, and consistently in a fast-paced kitchen
- Good understanding of food safety and kitchen sanitation
- Reliable, punctual, organized, and professional
- Strong team player with a positive attitude and willingness to learn

Responsibilities





- Prepare and execute dishes according to ALBA’s recipes and standards
- Set up and manage your station for service
- Complete daily mise en place accurately and efficiently
- Maintain consistent portioning, seasoning, plating, and presentation
- Monitor product quality and freshness
- Keep your station clean, organized, and properly stocked
- Communicate effectively with the Chef and kitchen team
- Help maintain the high standards expected in an upscale Italian restaurant
