Title: Linux Desktop Engineer
Location: Toronto, ON/Hybrid
Duration: 06 Months Seeking highly skilled professionals to design, build, and support enterprise Linux computing platforms and reliable development environments. The roles will focus on resolving active Linux engineering-workstation blockers, improving developer productivity, and maintaining high-performance workstations across globally distributed teams.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Expert Ubuntu 24.04 desktop engineering across Dell, Client, and Lenovo high-performance workstations.
- Hands-on HCL BigFix packaging, patching, and automated deployment of Zscaler, CrowdStrike, and ThreatLocker.
- Experience supporting GPUs, AI runtimes, Docker, virtualization, and complex developer hardware-software troubleshooting.
- Advanced Linux, Advanced DevOps, and Advanced Networking skills.
- Prior work experience at client or in client's industry.
Preferred Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience supporting AI or machine-learning development environments and associated runtimes.
- Familiarity with Dell, Client, and Lenovo workstation platforms, with Client hardware familiarity considered an advantage.
- Experience supporting globally distributed engineering teams in a large enterprise environment.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
- Design, build, deploy, and support enterprise Ubuntu 24.04 desktop environments.
- Investigate and resolve active Ubuntu desktop issues affecting engineer access, productivity, and workstation stability.
- Support Ubuntu endpoint pilots from requirements through production-readiness assessment.
