- Maintain, troubleshoot and fix mechanical issues, including adjusting, aligning and repairing power transmission systems, gearboxes, pumps and fans
- Perform welding, brazing and soldering
- Service compressed air and water piping systems
- Safely move large, heavy machine components using cranes, jacks and hoists
- Install new equipment and piping systems
- Read and follow maintenance procedures for electrical and instrumentation equipment
- Interpret engineering drawings, schematics and service manuals to determine work procedures
- Ensure all work complies with safety standards and applicable codes
- Perform regular housekeeping to maintain a safe and clean work area
- Collaborate with outside contractors and inspectors
- Maintain working relationships with coworkers, contractors and customers
- Communicate and liaise with other departments
- Respond to and manage maintenance emergencies as required
- Perform other maintenance assignments and duties as required
Requirements
- Must possess a valid 433A Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) License or equivalent Red Seal certification
- Proven experience in an industrial environment is a strong asset
- Knowledge of pumps, filters, gearboxes and valves
- Functional computer skills for logging maintenance activities, tracking work orders, and accessing procedures
- Strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail
- Exemplary oral and written communication skills
- G license required
- Ability to work effectively outdoors across various weather conditions
- Must be available and willing to work rotating shifts (Morning and Afternoon schedules)
- Valid work authorization in the country where the job is located is required
- Valid documentation confirming eligibility to work must be provided before the start date
- Some overtime will be necessary
