Manual Machinist / Millwright

Rotech Pumps is looking for a hands-on Manual Machinist / Millwright to join our manufacturing and pump assembly team.

We are looking for someone who is mechanically strong, comfortable working independently, and experienced with conventional machining and industrial equipment.

Responsibilities

- Operate manual lathes, milling machines and drill presses
- Machine shafts, sleeves, bushings, impellers and other mechanical components
- Perform drilling, tapping, boring, facing, turning and general machining work
- Read drawings, dimensions and tolerances
- Use measuring equipment including micrometers, verniers and dial indicators
- Perform fitting, assembly and repair of pumps and rotating equipment
- Assist with equipment maintenance and general millwright work
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues and make practical repairs or modifications
- Perform grinding, cutting and general fabrication as required
- Maintain a clean and safe working area

Qualifications
- Experience operating manual lathes is required
- Experience with manual milling and drilling equipment
- Robust mechanical aptitude and hands-on troubleshooting ability
- Comfortable reading mechanical drawings and working to tolerances
- Experience with pumps, rotating equipment, industrial machinery or similar equipment is an asset
- Millwright experience or background is an asset
- Welding and fabrication experience is preferred but not essential
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of jobs




- CNC experience is an asset but this position is primarily focused on manual machining

What We Are Looking For We are looking for someone who is versatile rather than someone limited to one machine. The ideal candidate is comfortable moving between machining, mechanical assembly, repairs and general shop work depending on what is required.

Experience in a pump, machine shop, repair shop or industrial manufacturing environment would be particularly valuable.

Job Type: Full-time

Experience: Manual machining: 2+ years preferred

Pay: $22.42-$28.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week

- Machining: 3 years (required)
- MIG welding: 1 year (preferred)
