Report to the Director of Operations, you'll set the direction for manufacturing engineering across NPI, production line design, and continuous improvement. Oversee daily operations related to production, partnering closely with Design, Quality, Supply Chain, and Operations to keep engineering execution aligned with business goals. Own the manufacturing engineering roadmap, aligning NPI [New Product Introduction], line & packaging design, and continuous improvement with business objectives.
Manage and mentor a team of Manufacturing Engineers (Electrical and Mechanical), including workload prioritisation and technical development. Serve as primary escalation point for production issues, yield loss, and technical risk; drive root cause analysis and corrective action. Drive cross-functional collaboration with Design, Quality, Supply Chain, and Operations.
Project Management
Lead manufacturing engineering projects from planning through implementation, ensuring timelines, scope, and deliverables are achieved. Develop project plans, priorities, milestones, and resource requirements for NPI, equipment, process, and continuous improvement initiatives. Track project progress, identify risks or roadblocks, and drive actions to keep projects on schedule. Provide regular project updates to stakeholders and leadership, including status, risks, decisions, and next steps.
NPI &
• Production Oversee the full NPI lifecycle: sales kit production, packaging capability, line commissioning, ramp‑up, and execution. Define and enforce manufacturing standards, best practises, and process documentation (work instructions, process flows, SOPs). Lead capacity planning, line design, and factory layout optimization to support scalability. Provide technical sign‑off on manufacturing processes, tooling concepts, and automation strategies. analyse yield,
cycle time, and defect data to drive improvement. Equipment &
• Technical Ownership Lead setup, optimisation, and test strategy development for PCBA test systems (e.g., SPEA T100L), improving test coverage, yield, and throughput. Operate and support Class 1 laser systems for precision processing
• Lead design consolidation initiatives to reduce part count and simplify assembly. Deliver material cost savings through supplier optimisation and substitution programmes. Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Industrial, or Mechatronics Engineering and / or have more than five years of equivalent experience or a related field
• Have 5+ years of progressive manufacturing engineering experience, ideally including shopfloor or hands‑on production background Be able to manage several projects at once
• Professional proficiency in English is required. Knowledge in assembly or production line as an asset. Demonstrated experience owning NPI launches from concept through production ramp Strong working knowledge of BOM and ECN [Engineering Change Notice] management within an ERP system (e.g., Experience with PCBA test systems and/or precision laser processing equipment is a strong asset Familiarity with Lean, 5S, Six Sigma, FMEA, and root cause analysis methodologies Proficiency with CAD tools (SolidWorks, DraftSight, or equivalent) Proven people leadership: mentoring, workload prioritisation, and performance development Strong cross‑functional communicator, comfortable working with Design, Quality, Supply Chain, and Operations Experience in architectural or industrial LED lighting manufacturing is an asset. CNC machining exposure (e.g., Tormach or similar) is an asset. Forklift and Occupational First Aid certifications is an asset.
