Become a vital part of the Northwest Territories Health and Social Services Authority as a Mental Health Counsellor. Provide therapeutic treatment for mental health, addictions, and family violence in Yellowknife. As a qualified in this position with NTHSSA, you will focus on therapeutic counselling with individuals across all age groups.
Your expertise in child and adult development and trauma-informed care will enable effective treatment delivery. You will also connect clients with traditional healers and support their recovery journey. Key Responsibilities:
- Provide therapeutic treatment for mental health and addictions
- Apply knowledge of developmental psychology effectively
- Refer clients to traditional healers when necessary
- Maintain a trauma-informed, recovery-oriented practice
- Engage with clients of all ages with diverse needs Requirements:
- Master’s degree in Counselling, Psychology, or related field
- One year of relevant therapeutic counselling experience
- At least 500 hours of supervised clinical experience
- Ability to provide a satisfactory vulnerable sector check
- Proof of current immunization status required Support the mental well-being of the community while utilizing your therapeutic skills at NTHSSA.
