Matrix HR is recruiting experienced Journeyperson Metal Fabricators/Shipfitters for a full-time, long-term shipbuilding project in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Key Responsibilities

- Operate hand and power tools to cut, shape, and fabricate metal parts
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications
- Measure and mark metal components using precision tools
- Weld or join parts using MIG, TIG, or ARC welding techniques
- Operate cranes or forklifts to move heavy materials when required
- Perform quality inspections to ensure all products meet specifications
- Collaborate with team members to ensure projects are completed on schedule

Qualifications and Requirements

- Red Seal or Registered Apprenticed Fabricator certification
- Previous experience as a Metal Fabricator or Shipfitter
- Proficient in MIG, TIG, or ARC welding and metalworking techniques
- Ability to read technical drawings and perform accurate measurements
- Must be eligible to work in Canada and have lived in Canada for at least 5 years
- Must be able to lift, carry, and set up equipment weighing up to 50 lbs
- Pre-employment physical required
- Fit Tested Respirator Mask and PPE required
- Must be able to work in confined spaces and commute daily to the site
- Valid Confined Space and Fall Protection tickets

All successful applicants must meet the requirements for Canadian Government Security clearance.
