Title: Middleware Specialist

Open positions: 1

Location: Hybrid - Toronto area - 2/3 days per week at the office.

Duration:6 months, renewable.

Start date: as soon as possible.

Responsibilities:

- Monthly application releases – cycle of 12 monthly releases that requires comprehensive build and test activities in the pre-production environment to ensure seamless deployments to the production environment. Maintenance release deployments ensure modern, effective, and secure systems are in place to support the day-to-day tracking of case management based on Employment Ontario programs.

- Application Operations, Maintenance and Support - IT team is responsible to support production and non-production environments, including, application availability and monitoring checks as per service level agreement, troubleshooting high priority production issues, keeping the lights-on, addressing service requests, incidents, change requests, application deployments, configuration, and support.

- Business Intelligence report setting – enhanced reporting environment based on SAP Business Object Enterprise (BOE) and · Power Center Informatica/Oracle-based ETL system which is an essential component to run business critical daily, weekly, and monthly reports to make timely, informed decisions. Business dependency is extremely high on the availability of these systems.

- Technology upgrades – upgrade various technologies (i.e., SAP Business Object Enterprise, Informatica, etc.) for business-critical applications used by internal and external service providers users and keep the government assets current and up to date.





Skills and Experience

- Working experience with business-critical applications support in a production environment.

- Hands-on experience in application support, build and test, production deployment, change request, and release management.

- Ability to perform database design, editing, transformation, and loading (i.e., ETL)- Power center informatica.

- Knowledge of complex programming concepts and languages to lead the preparation of detailed design specifications, testing, implementation, and documentation.

- Working knowledge of n-tier web-based applications, database technologies, software, tools, and languages such as SAP Business Object Enterprise, Informatica, Oracle, PL/SQL, and Windows/Solaris/Linux operating systems.

- Sound knowledge of production applications support process including incident management, change management, deployment, support, and upgrades Working.

- Ability to manage and track all incident and service requests and coordinate with other support teams.

- Working experience with technology upgrade projects.

- Knowledge of the Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC), application deployment, testing, and release management processes to contribute to the development, delivery, and ongoing support of applications.

- Knowledge of ITIL and experience of application support with incident tickets, service requests, change requests, deployment, and release management.

- Working knowledge of information architecture and data modeling, internet technology, and emerging technologies to support the n-tier web-based Datawarehouse and Reporting applications.
