- The candidate must participate in laboratory work, sample preparation, data entry and management, drafting, and production of outputs using Geographic Information Systems (GIS).
- The candidate will be required to carry out field activities including driving, traversing, note-taking, sample collection, and camp set-up and maintenance support.
- The candidate will provide support with researching and compiling information, synthesising and presenting geological and geochemical data, and assisting with the preparation and delivery of BCGS publications.
- The candidate must perform laboratory, office, and field duties in accordance with BCGS and WorkSafeBC policies and procedures.





Job Requirements

- The candidate must be enrolled in an undergraduate university program in Geology, Geological Engineering, Geography, or an equivalent program from a recognized post-secondary institution.
- The candidate must have experience using a broad range of computer software including MS Office, GIS, graphics applications, database management tools, and statistical analysis software.
- The candidate must have experience in the compilation, evaluation, synthesis, and interpretation of geological, geochemical, and/or geochronological data.
- Preference may be given to candidates who have recently completed their undergraduate or graduate degree.
- Preference may be given to applicants who have experience working on government geoscience programs or field-based projects.
- Preference may be given to applicants with a valid Class 5 BC Driver’s Licence or equivalent Canadian licence.
- The candidate must be located in British Columbia at the time of employment.
