We're looking for a Multi-Lines Claims Adjuster to join our team in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. In this role, you'll help policyholders navigate property, casualty, and liability claims with fairness, empathy, and professionalism. You'll investigate losses, assess coverage, determine claim value, and negotiate settlements, all while delivering exceptional customer service.
This role offers the opportunity to work independently in the field, build meaningful relationships with clients, and make a direct impact on people's lives. You'll enjoy the flexibility of a hybrid work environment, combining field investigations with the convenience of working from home when not attending loss sites.
Responsibilities
- Investigate, analyze, and evaluate property and casualty claims.
- Conduct site inspections and gather information related to losses.
- Review policy coverage and determine claim eligibility and settlement recommendations.
- Negotiate and resolve claims in accordance with company standards and provincial licensing requirements.
- Maintain accurate claim documentation, reports, billing records, and expense records.
- Deliver timely updates and exceptional service to policyholders, clients, and stakeholders.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships through skilled communication and collaboration.
- Manage a diverse caseload while balancing priorities and meeting service expectations.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience handling property and/or casualty claims.
- Ability to get an Independent Adjuster License in all Atlantic provinces.
- Ability to get an Independent Adjuster License in Ontario would be an asset.
- CIP designation or working towards CIP designation is required.
- Strong knowledge of liability insurance policies.
- Post-secondary education in an insurance related field is an asset.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical and mathematical ability.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Strong team player who contributes positively to group goals to achieve shared success.
- Valid driver's license and a reliable means of transportation is required.
- Regular travel to loss sites within the region is required.
