Job Summary: As the Lead Hand at the Raven Café, you’ll be the heartbeat of our cozy mountain café team—keeping things running smoothly from the first espresso shot to the last après-ski cheers. You’ll help manage and support a small but mighty crew, making sure guests are greeted with warm smiles, delicious drinks, and top-notch service. Your day will include everything from taking orders and crafting specialty coffees to balancing tills, managing tip-outs, restocking supplies,

and coordinating schedules to meet daily goals. You’ll lead by example, staying organized, efficient, and upbeat—even when the snow is falling fast and the café is buzzing. You’ll also help train new team members, share your knowledge of the resort, and ensure everyone is following our policies and procedures. If you love hospitality, leadership, and mountain life, this role is your perfect blend.

Key Responsibilities:

- Help train new team members, so they feel confident and ready to deliver top-notch guest service.
- Support daily supervision of café staff, ensuring smooth operations and great teamwork.
- Be the on-floor point of contact for staff questions, guest needs, and general café flow.
- Maintain clear communication with back-of-house staff to keep service seamless.
- Delegate tasks and pitch in with cleaning and janitorial duties when needed.
- Manage daily and weekly product orders from the Alpine Lodge to keep shelves stocked and fridges full.
- Oversee staff tip-outs and ensure fair and accurate distribution.
- Handle cash procedures and POS operations with precision and accountability.
- Monitor business volumes and adjust staffing as needed to meet daily targets.
- Keep the café clean, organized, and welcoming for guests and staff alike.

- Strong communication skills and a professional, approachable attitude.
- Experience with cash handling and POS systems.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations.
- WHMIS certification is an asset.
- Willingness to assist in other resort departments when needed.

Resort Conditions: Working at a Winter Resort means no two days are the same—and that's part of the adventure! You’ll get to experience a variety of unique locations, from cozy lodges to scenic mountain-top venues only accessible by chairlift. Be prepared to embrace the elements; whether it's bluebird skies, fresh snowfall, or the infamous coastal rain.

Expect to navigate multi-level lodges, steep stairways, and outdoor areas where the terrain can be sloped, snowy, or slippery, so good footwear is essential, indoors and out. Walking through large, icy parking lots is also part of the daily journey. If you love fresh air, stunning views, and a workplace that keeps you on your toes, this is the spot for you!
