The Outdoor Play

Specialist is a 16-month term role responsible for creating standards for outdoor play within YMCA Child Care programs. Collaborating with educators and community partners, you will develop tools, conduct assessments, and facilitate training that enhances outdoor learning. Your expertise will help set the stage for enriching children's outdoor experiences through play. Key Responsibilities:

- Develop outdoor play standards, tools, and best practices
- Coach Child Care educators in outdoor pedagogy
- Facilitate professional learning initiatives for staff
- Lead the YMCA Outdoor Play Project implementation
- Conduct assessments of outdoor learning environments Requirements:
- Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field
- Minimum five years of experience with children
- Demonstrated experience in outdoor pedagogy
- Robust communication and relationship-building skills
