Raj Towing is currently looking for an experienced, reliable and organized Overnight Tow Truck Dispatcher to join our team. The Dispatcher will coordinate towing assignments, communicate with tow truck operators and ensure calls are handled promptly and accurately throughout the overnight shift.
Responsibilities and duties will include, but are not limited to:
- Answer incoming phone calls and receive and process towing requests in a qualified and timely manner
- Review towing requests and verify all required information before dispatching
- Contact customers, repair shops, dealerships or other pickup/drop-off locations to confirm towing arrangements
- Assign calls to the appropriate available driver and towing equipment
- Communicate pickup, drop-off, service details and any special instructions to drivers
- Monitor active and outstanding towing assignments throughout the shift
- Maintain communication with drivers and provide updates or assistance as required
- Prioritize urgent and time-sensitive towing requests
- Update call statuses and maintain accurate records of towing assignments
- Communicate any delays, issues or unusual circumstances to the appropriate team member
- Collect and verify all required information prior to generating an invoice
- Ensure a smooth handoff of outstanding calls to the next shift
- Perform other duties as assigned by a supervisor or manager
Requirements:
- Minimum 1 year of dispatching experience required; 2+ years preferred
- Previous towing, roadside assistance or transportation dispatch experience strongly preferred
- Must be available to work overnight shifts
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Excellent organization and attention to detail
- Ability to multitask and prioritize calls in a fast-paced environment
- Comfortable using computers, smartphones and dispatch applications
- Familiarity with Winnipeg and surrounding areas
- Ability to remain calm and make decisions during urgent situations
- Reliable, punctual and able to work independently with minimal supervision
