Job Summary
Toronto Academy of Education is seeking qualified, dedicated, and experienced PSW Instructor's for our Personal Support Worker program. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering a comprehensive curriculum that meets the standards set by the NACC and Ministry of Colleges and Universities (MCU). This role involves teaching both theoretical and practical components of the program, using pre-approved instructional materials and providing students with the knowledge and skills necessary for success in the PSW field.

Academic & Experience Requirements:
· Must be an RPN/RN, with the current registration and no practice restrictions with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO)
· Must present with a minimum of two (2) years of current, relevant work experience in a Canadian clinical environment, preferably in a long-term care/community/chronic care setting.
· Previous experience in teaching, and tutoring adult students and Knowledge of the NACC’s Personal Support Worker program curriculum are an asset.

Duties and Responsibilities
· Teach the Personal Support Worker program curriculum, utilizing provided courseware, resources, and lesson plans.
· Demonstrate thorough knowledge of the PSW field and stay current with industry standards.
· Deliver engaging, interactive lectures, demonstrations, and hands-on training.
· Administer and evaluate quizzes, assignments, and exams to monitor and assess student progress.
· Provide constructive feedback on student performance and development.
· Maintain accurate attendance and grade records, returning assessments promptly.
· Handle student inquiries and concerns with professionalism and sensitivity in a multicultural environment.
· Maintain a clean and organized classroom, ensuring proper care of equipment and resources.
· Assist the admissions team in providing information about the program to prospective students.
· Attend faculty meetings and participate in events such as graduation ceremonies.
· Prepare teaching materials and outlines for courses
· Prepare, administer and mark tests and papers to evaluate students' progress
· Advise students on program curricula and career decisions
· Teach students through lectures, discussions, audio-visual presentations and laboratory, shop and field studies
· Comply with all regulatory standards as set out by the Ministry of Colleges and Universities (MCU), and the Ontario Career College Act, 2005
