Job Summary

My family are seeking a compassionate, reliable, and experienced Personal Support Worker comfortable with assisting a gentleman who turned 90 this year who is in good health in Scarborough, Ontario (female candidates are welcome to apply). The ideal candidate will support his mobility, meal preparation, light housekeeping, and companionship, ensuring his safety and well‑being in a comfortable home environment. Work days will be Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday every week.

Duties

- Mobility & Fall Prevention
- Accompany client on walks and provide steadying support as needed
- Monitor for fall risks and ensure clear pathways
- Meals & Nutrition
- Prepare meals and clean kitchen & dining area after use
- Housekeeping & Laundry
- Perform light household chores (dishes, vacuuming, dusting, bed-making)
- Manage laundry and linen changes
- Errands & Shopping
- Manage grocery & household supplies
- Coordinate with third party cleaner to visit regularly
- Safety & Emergency Response
- Continuously monitor living environment for hazards
- Act promptly in emergencies, including contacting family or 911
- Record-Keeping & Reporting
- Maintain daily logs of hours, tasks completed, meals, incidents, and mood/activity levels




- Communicate any changes in health or behaviour to the family
- Additional Support
- Perform other duties consistent with PSW scope of practice

Qualifications & Skills

- Valid PSW certification and explicit CPR/First Aid certification
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in home care, preferably live‑in
- Vulnerable Sector Screening (police check) within last 6 months
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work independently, exercise good judgment, and maintain confidentiality
- Respectful, patient, and compassionate demeanour
- Non‑smoker & drivers license preferred

Compensation

- Compensation: Competitive hourly rate (subject to level of experience), plus comfortable, private room and all food provided plus paid vacation and statutory holidays
