Position Summary

We are looking for a reliable and safety-conscious Plasma Cutter / Scrap Metal Processing Worker to join our team. This position involves using a plasma cutter and other hand tools to cut, separate, clean, and prepare scrap metal for processing, recycling, or resale.

The successful candidate will be comfortable working with metal, operating cutting equipment, performing physical labour, and maintaining a clean and organized work area.

Key Responsibilities

- Operate a plasma cutter safely and efficiently to cut and size scrap metal.
- Sort, separate, and clean scrap metal and materials.
- Remove unwanted materials, attachments, and debris from scrap metal.
- Prepare metal for recycling, processing, or shipment.
- Use hand and power tools such as grinders, torches, saws, and cutting equipment as required.
- Inspect materials and identify different types of metal when necessary.
- Load, unload, move, and organize scrap metal using appropriate equipment and safe lifting practices.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work area.
- Follow all company safety procedures and proper PPE requirements.
- Perform routine inspections and basic maintenance of cutting equipment.
- Report damaged equipment, unsafe conditions, or other hazards to management.
- Perform other general labour and shop duties as required.

Qualifications & Skills
- Previous experience with plasma cutting, metal fabrication, welding, or scrap metal processing is an asset.




- Ability to safely operate hand tools and power tools.
- Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
- Ability to identify and work with different types of metal is an asset.
- Positive attention to detail and commitment to quality work.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Dependable, punctual, and willing to perform physically demanding work.
- Ability to follow safety procedures and work instructions.

Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and work for extended periods.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials.
- Ability to work around noise, dust, heat, sparks, and metal debris.
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment, including safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, protective clothing, and appropriate footwear.

Work Environment This position involves working in a metal-processing/shop environment and may include exposure to heavy materials, sharp edges, sparks, fumes, dust, noise, and varying temperatures. Strict adherence to workplace safety procedures is required.

What We’re Looking For

We are looking for someone who takes pride in working safely, works hard, and is comfortable getting their hands dirty. Experience is preferred, but the right candidate with a strong work ethic and willingness to learn may be considered.

Pay: $18.00-$25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30.0 – 50.0 per week
