The Developer
Platform team is responsible for building cloud-native, self-service developer infrastructure that enables the software development lifecycle for over 600 engineers at Verily. We furnish a speedy, delightful, scalable, and secure developer journey through integrated capabilities in AI, IDE extensions, application templates, developer portals, CI/CD and other functional areas. We are a product-oriented, highly-effective, world-class platform engineering team that has a large positive impact on the product development process at Verily.
As part of this team, you will work closely with engineers who have worked on successful projects like Kubernetes, Istio and Firebase. Own the implementation for a significant platform capability or set of capabilities. Kubernetes, VSCode, Backstage, Terraform) and cutting-edge AI.
Drive execution through high-quality implementation and set an example of best practices in code health and production (e.g. monitoring, frequent releases, reliable CI). BA/BS degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field; or equivalent practical experience in software engineering with 3+ years experience developing and maintaining reliable, scalable, and secure products and services in production in Go, Python, TypeScript, or similar programming languages.
Google Cloud
Platform/Amazon Web Services/Azure or other cloud providers, GitHub Actions, VSCode, Kubernetes, Backstage, or related tools. Strong foundation in data structures, algorithms, and system design with strong analytical and debugging skills. Strong communication skills in scenarios like discussing a current feature, investigating a customer issue, and articulating next steps and blockers in a task.
Experience in building with LLMs to solve business problems. Strong working knowledge of microservices, software delivery platforms, DevSecOps, continuous integration, and release management processes. Familiarity working in a centralized developer platform team.
The Canada base salary range for this full-time position is CAD 120,500-136,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
