Our client is looking to add an experienced Litigation Law Clerk to its successful national Commercial Litigation and Construction Group. What you’ll be doing
As a Litigation Law Clerk, you will provide substantive support to lawyers on a variety of commercial and construction litigation matters, including:
- Assisting with matters involving all aspects of commercial and construction litigation.
- Drafting and preparing pleadings and other litigation documents.
- Participating in document production and the discovery process.
- Preparing motion and application materials, mediation briefs, and pre-trial briefs.
- Assisting with preparation for hearings and trials.
- Managing matter and data-related responsibilities, including scoping and budgeting.
- Working collaboratively with lawyers and other members of the legal support team.
- Contributing to the delivery of exceptional client service.
What you bring
- 5–8 years of experience in a law firm environment, preferably in a litigation Law Clerk role.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of the Rules of Civil Procedure.
- A College Law Clerk Diploma or Institute of Law Clerks of Ontario (ILCO) Certificate.
- A university degree is considered an asset.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong ability to take direction while also working independently.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Experience with iManage, ACL, Relativity, Kofax PDF, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- A collaborative mindset, strong work ethic, and commitment to continuous learning and improvement.
The expected salary range for this position is $90,000 to $115,000, depending on level of experience, region/location, and other relevant factors.
