- Plan and instruct quality arts programs
- Ensure safe, well-supervised, fun, and age-appropriate learning environments
- Develop structured programs with the Supervisor
- Facilitate lectures or demonstrations for assigned topics
- Adapt daily programming to participant needs
- Address parent/participant concerns and communicate incidents to the Supervisor
- Provide independent work time and one‑on‑one assistance
- Build positive relationships and communicate clearly with staff and participants
- Guide and oversee volunteers
- Maintain a protected and clean facility and properly use equipment
- Communicate program and facility needs or deficiencies
- Evaluate and address potential risks
- Coordinate with the customer service desk during emergencies

- Maintain attendance and administrative records Requirements - Secondary School Diploma Preferred
- Post-Secondary Education related to specialized field is preferred
- Minimum of five (5) years teaching/program instruction experience
- Experience working with targeted age group
- Standard First Aid and CPR C
- HIGH FIVE® Principles of Healthy Child Development (children’s programs)
- Certifications/workshops in a related field and Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) or equivalent is as asset
- Expert knowledge and aptitude in a specific area of interest (e.g. art history, including contemporary practice, languages, music, dance, wellness)
- Master level expertise in a variety of techniques and practice specific to the area of interest
- Expert in one or more artistic techniques, practices and materials in a minimum of one area including painting, drawing, ceramics, pottery, hand building, or clay sculpture
- Strong problem solving skills with the ability to work well independently and in a team environment
- Superior instructional and facilitation skills
- Satisfactory Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
