Contract Details

- Position Type: Contract
- Contract Duration: 12 months
- Pay Rate: C$60.00–C$150.00 / Hour (CAD)

Job Summary

Transmission Project Management (TPM) requires an experienced Project Manager to manage the Transmission Program and support the project team in executing multiple high-voltage transmission infrastructure projects. The Project Manager is accountable for all aspects of project delivery from project inception through to closeout, establishing reliable relationships between EDTI and service proponents through vetted and audited contracts.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage a portfolio of high-voltage transmission projects of varying size and complexity from inception through closeout.
- Ensure safe project execution by supporting hazard identification, safe work planning, and compliance with OH&S; legislation and internal HSE policies.
- Manage project budgets according to Capital Investment Policy, maintain accurate forecasts, and process internal change approvals promptly.
- Maintain up-to-date project schedules and complete internal change approvals.
- Liaise with internal engineering, project controls, and construction crews to ensure smooth deliverable workflows.
- Lead RFP development, tendering, evaluation, contract negotiations, and contract administration for goods and services.
- Maintain accurate project records and governance documentation across internal systems (Oracle Projects, IVARA Work Management, eScheduler, SharePoint, and ProjectWise).
- Participate in field activities, including kick-offs, project walk-downs, and site HSE inspections.

Required Skills





- Demonstrated experience with utility construction in energized substations and knowledge of associated protected work practices.
- Experience with project permitting, environmental assessments, and stakeholder engagement.
- Thorough understanding of core project management processes aligned with PMBOK.
- Experience in major equipment and construction procurement (RFP creation, bidding, contract negotiation, and administration).

Preferred Skills

- PMP designation is highly desirable.
- Experience with the Alberta Electric System Operator (AESO) project lifecycle is highly desirable.
- Canadian Electric Utilities experience (e.g., EPCOR, ATCO, AltaLink, BC Hydro, SaskPower, Manitoba Hydro, Hydro One).

Education Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, OR a relevant Technical Certificate/Diploma.

Required Experience

- 5 years of project management experience in a construction environment.
- 10 years of relevant experience required if holding a technical diploma/certificate.

Important Notes

The following Mandatory Safety Training must be completed within one month of contract execution:

- Construction Safety Training System (CSTS)
- Electrical Safety Training System (ESTS)
- Contractor Management
- WHMIS Worker Education
- Hazard Management
